75 CERTIFICATE IN JUSTICE AND MISSION (10 HOURS) This certificate requires the following courses: JM 501 Knowing Justice: Theological Foundations (3); JM 502 Doing Justice: Practical Foundations (3) OR JM 601 Uncovering Justice: Empirical Realities (3); and four hours of Justice and Mission electives. CERTIFICATE IN MESSIANIC JUDAISM (10 HOURS) This certificate requires the following courses: MJ 501 Introduction to Messianic Judaism OR MJ 503 Messianic Jewish Apologetics I: Historical and Theological Objections (2), and eight hours of Messianic Judaism electives. CERTIFICATE IN PASTORAL CARE (12 HOURS) The Certificate in Pastoral Care is intended for students who wish to be able to integrate their Christian faith with competent pastoral care and counseling abilities. This certificate is especially suited to students who either desire specific training in this area without a degree, who want to explore a pastoral care focus before enrolling in an MDiv Pastoral Care and Counseling or MA Counseling Ministries degree, or who wish to expand their learning from a previous degree. This certificate requires the following courses: CO 505 Groups in Counseling (3); CO 526 Therapeutic Communication (2); CO 539 Group Experience (1); CO 540 Issues in Counseling Ministries (3); CO 560 Brief Counseling (2); and CO 570 Brief Counseling Practicum (1). CERTIFICATE IN SCHOOL COUNSELING (12 HOURS) Prerequisite to certificate admission requires either the completion of or concurrent enrollment in a clinical mental health counseling program. The following courses are required: CO 506 Introduction to School Counseling (2); CO 507 Programs in School Counseling (3); CO 552 Marriage and Family Counseling OR CO 553 Counseling Children OR CO 554 Counseling Adolescents 1 (3); CO 785 School Counseling Internship I (2); and CO 787 School Counseling Internship II (2). 1 Students choosing CO 553 or CO 554 should add a one hour supplement to the course since these are two-hour courses. CERTIFICATE IN YOUTH AND FAMILY STUDIES (10 HOURS) This certificate requires the following courses: YFS 501Foundations of Youth and Family Studies (3); YFS 620 Contextualized Design for Adolescent Programming (3); YFS 660 Moral & Faith Development in Adolescence (2); and Youth and Family Ministry Elective (any course with YFS prefix) (2)
