9 LOOKING AHEAD 2018–2019 ACADEMIC YEAR DENVER SEMINARY BECOMES DEBT FREE Denver Seminary experienced an enormous blessing in the 2018 fiscal year. While the three administrative buildings and land of the main campus have been debt free for many years, a $10 million-dollar bond issue financed the building of the 93 on- campus housing units. In addition to paying toward that balance over the last 10 years, the Seminary has received $4,000,000 from several generous donors over the past two years to pay off the bonds in full! Financial stability is a key concern of many donors when evaluating an organization to support. It is a tremendous blessing for Denver Seminary to be debt free because with it comes a new level of stability to prepare men and women to engage the needs of the world with the redemptive power of the gospel and the life-changing truth of Scripture. Denver Seminary Hires New Administrators On July 1, 2018, two key institutional positions were filled. Dr. Lynn H. Cohick began as provost/dean and Dusty Di Santo as vice president of student life and enrollment management. Both bring several years of theological education experience from Wheaton College. Counseling Division Redesigns Curriculum for Fall 2018 Launch Denver Seminary's Counseling Division redesigned the clinical mental health degree programs so students can now choose between a master of arts with a concentration in clinical mental health counseling or a concentration in school counseling. Both concentrations provide 60 credits of counseling courses, as well as two new courses in Old and New Testament survey for a total of 64 credit hours. For students interested in more intensive biblical and theological training, the counseling MAs can be taken in conjunction with either the certificate in Biblical and theological studies or the master of arts in Biblical and theological studies. Leadership Degrees Made Fully Online The master of arts in leadership degree is now available fully online. This is a 50-credit hour degree that can be completed in as little as 22 months. It equips students for executive leadership in business, politics, or Christian ministry. Additionally, the master of divinity degree is available fully online which can now be completed with a concentration in leadership. 9
