The Hispanic Initiative includes the following programs: A certificate of completion in Hispanic Studies. The IDEAL Institute (The Institute for the Development and Training of Leaders). Oasis (Training Female Leaders for the Hispanic Church). Worship LeadersĀ“ Program. Friends of IDEAL (building the future of the Hispanic Church). Asian Initiative The Asian Initiative aims to develop pastoral and lay leadership among Asian Christians in metro Denver by offering opportunities for pastors and lay leaders to be equipped thoroughly to serve the Lord's Kingdom and church more effectively. Conferences and Lectureships There is typically at least one conference or lectureship per semester intended to invite students to consider aspects of Christianity that otherwise might not be brought to their attention. These conferences and lectureships present evangelical leaders who, by knowledge and experience, are able to contribute inspirational stimulation and theological insight. Kent Mathews Endowed Lectureship in Christian Social Ethics As part of the Vernon Grounds Institute of Public Ethics, the annual Kent Mathews Lectureship addresses the Biblical, theological, and philosophical nature of the Christian's obligation, the personal character dimensions of social ethics, the values reflected in social justice, and the concrete responses to which we are called as followers of Christ. Salt & Light Seminar Salt & Light is an annual seminar hosted by the Vernon Grounds Institute of Public Ethics. The purpose of the seminar is to offer a collective learning experience designed to empower and inspire participants to steward the resources that God has given them for maximum impact in the world. Those who attend have the opportunity to interact with leaders in their fields, enjoy a catered lunch, and receive the monograph series published by the Vernon Grounds Institute. Urban Initiative The Urban Initiative is internationally inclusive, embracing all people in urban Denver while focusing on black people of varying ethnic backgrounds. The Urban Initiative is designed to be an academic bridge by expanding the presence of black students in Denver Seminary degree programs, enhancing the overall experience of black students through support activities and services, and extending the educational resources of Denver Seminary to Denver's urban communities. Spurgeon Lectures These semi-annual lectures are intended to highlight excellent examples of preaching from the historical reformed perspective. On those years when they are scheduled, an individual from the reformed community is invited to share a series of three lectures on some topic which informs or highlights that theological position.
