2019-2020 Student Handbook 60 3. A Leave of Absence is granted only under unusual circumstances. Contact the DMin. Director to discuss prior to submitting the request. Academic Failure Students must maintain a 3.0 ("B") cumulative grade point average (GPA). A course grade of B- will be accepted as long as students maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA. In the event students receive a grade less than the required B- minimum, the following policies will prevail: 1. The student may retake the course or take an additional seminar (if the failed course is not a required course). If an additional seminar is taken, the hours of the failed seminar will not be counted toward the DMin degree but will be included in the student's GPA, which must be 3.0 or above to graduate. 2. The above option applies for a failing grade in only one seminar. A second failure will result in dismissal from the doctoral program. 3. In case of failure, approval of the DMin committee to continue in the program must be secured. Decisions of the committee are final. 4. The student must pay full tuition to retake the course. 5. The student must have a 3.0 GPA to graduate. Thesis Grading Students registered for the following will receive a grade of Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory: DT 1101 Thesis (4 hrs) DT 1102 Thesis Continuation (no credit) DT 1103 Thesis Extended Continuation (no credit) A grade of "U" for two consecutive sessions will result in dismissal from the program unless extenuating circumstances for the "U" can be demonstrated. A grade of Pass or Fail will be assigned for the student's final 3 credit hours, DT 1104 Thesis Completion.
