1 I've never been more convinced of the need for biblically-based, gospel-centered theological education than I am today. Denver Seminary's mission, to prepare men and women to engage the needs of the world with the redemptive power of the gospel and the life-changing truth of Scripture, is exactly what God's people are called to do in this world. Our students come to seminary believing that God has called them to that kind of ministry; our privilege is to help them pursue that calling with the knowledge, skills, and character that will be demanded of them. In the 2018–19 school year, we began to see the fruit of the innovations we've instituted in the way we do theological education at Denver Seminary. Because we have made more of our programs accessible fully online, we had the highest enrollment in our Master of Divinity in the Seminary's history. Our goal is to make Denver Seminary's programs even more accessible, more doable, and more affordable for students. We believe that these changes will help us combat the trend of declining enrollments in seminaries nationwide. You will see in this annual report that while the Seminary continues to enjoy the Lord's blessing in so many ways, we continue to experience financial pressures due to students taking fewer credit hours. Almost all of our students work and engage in ministry on top of their studies and family responsibilities. I'm humbled by their sacrifice and commitment. Through the generosity of our donors, we are able to remain financially strong. What a blessing they are to us. Next fall Denver Seminary will celebrate seventy years of effective ministry. Encouraged by that legacy and inspired by the opportunities that lie before us, we press on with hope and conviction. Grateful to the Lord, Mark Young President A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
