5 MEETING OUR AUDIENCES WHERE THEY ARE ENGAGE360: OUR PODCAST MAKES REACHING MORE AUDIENCES A REALITY In 2018-19, Denver Seminary explored how to reach more people. The solution? Denver Seminary kicked off the 2019-20 academic year with Engage360, a theologically rich podcast, hosted by Dr. Don Payne, associate professor of theology and Christian formation. Engage360 serves as a platform for expanding the reach of the Denver Seminary voice to all students as well as our alumni, donors, and the broader community, and provides a consistent learning experience for all students whether in Littleton, at an extension campus, or part of online Global Campus. In addition, Engage360 is helping Denver Seminary grow as a prominent voice in the larger conversations taking place within the spheres of evangelicalism, theological education, and cultural engagement, while being good stewards of Denver Seminary resources. ON-CAMPUS OR ONLINE: THE GLOBAL CAMPUS MAKES EDUCATION POSSIBLE FOR MORE STUDENTS Denver Seminary meets students where they are. For some this means on campus, for others online. In 2015, a research team contacted several hundred students who applied to Denver Seminary, had been accepted, but did not enroll. "We learned a lot from that study, but most important was that Denver Seminary remained their first choice, even if they enrolled in a different institution. The second thing we learned was that these potential students could not uproot their families and leave their jobs," says Aaron Johnson, associate dean of educational technology. In an effort to support all students no matter where they wanted to study, Denver Seminary began its first fully online degree programs. By 2018-19, Denver Seminary had more than 150 students across the US and across the world in its four online degree programs. Many Denver Seminary Global students are parents and professionals. Others travel for work or live hundreds or thousands of miles away but recognize the value that Denver Seminary offers. Our Global Campus allows us to provide an education to students where they are, to fit their needs. A new episode is available every Monday. Listen to Engage360 by going to DenverSeminary.edu or on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google Play. The MDiv will help me become a better minister, especially as I serve youth and children in a country where 80 percent of the residents are below age 30. The Global Campus lets me connect with other like-minded individuals and learn with people from other cultures and locations. I'm also able to connect with my professors in a way that makes me feel welcome and valued at Denver Seminary. —Peter Dusabe, Global Campus student studying in Uganda MEETING OUR AUDIENCES WHERE THEY ARE 3
