11 December 6 "Time of Your Life" was a great song Paul Anka sang many years ago, and it was used for Kodak film commercials to remind people that taking pictures would help them remem- ber the experiences they had with friends and family. We wanted to capture the smiles, faces, and special moments when a child or loved one opened the perfect gift. Christmas is a time when we remember a great mix of experiences and feelings, as we harken back to "the time of our life." Back when we were kids it was hard to wait for the time to unwrap gifts. Then, when we had kids of our own, it was hard to wait for them to unwrap their gifts. Now, it's even harder to wait on the grandkids to unwrap their presents. Wrapped pres- ents capture our attention because the unknown is just behind that thin layer of paper. Usually we are pleased with the gift but occasionally the new clothes weren't quite as exciting as the new electronic toy that the child was hoping for. God's gift of Jesus is such a clear gift of love that there is no confusion about why the gift was given or who it was given to. We are all sinners in need of a Savior and there is only One who can save us: Jesus. In John 14:6, Jesus was very clear about the gift of relationship He offered to everyone when He said: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Of all the gifts I have given and received, the gift of relationship with God through His Son Jesus is by far the best. It's a pleasure to share this "best gift ever given" throughout the entire year with family and friends, children and adults, and all those we meet, as we share the good news of the gospel!
