CHURCH RESOURCE ENGAGE 11 world of our emotions and desires, and the situational world that we experience and engage with. In a recent sermon at The Well titled "Doctrine, Devotion, Duty," he shared what sparked this area of interest. "No one seemed to have a consensus on how to make a disciple. You could ask a hundred different pastors and you'd receive a hundred different answers." The Well's growth has been a labor of love and certainly a blessing, Chase said, but he acknowledged that there is no special church strategy when it comes to transforming lives. His vision for discipleship is informed by the commandment God gave from the beginning, "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might" (Deut. 6:5), the same commandment that Jesus reaffirms throughout the Gospels. The Well's sermons, ministries, and missional communities seek to engage believers from all of these key perspectives that they might grow in their understanding of doctrine and knowledge of God, their devotion and love for God, and their duty to serve God and neighbor. "Spiritual formation—being formed to the example of Christ—cannot be reduced to mentorship or caretaking or Bible study or right behavior. Becoming a disciple of God requires a balanced pursuit of the Christian life. Helping others learn to love God with their head, heart, and hands drives me. What we think, what we feel, and what we do—it all matters." This holistic approach resonates. Chase has been faithful to the ways God has led him, understanding that seeking God is the beginning of all wisdom, and receiving with open hands the opportunities before him. Chase serves The Well as the Lead Pastor of Ministry. He grew up in Dallas, Texas and received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Science from Texas A&M University. Chase is a graduate of Denver Seminary, where he earned an MDiv in 2014 and a ThM in 2019. Chase enjoys mountain biking, bourbon, reading, international travel, college football, and his family. Chase lives right outside of Boulder with his wife, Kim, and their two boys, Knox and Owen. Denver Seminary has over 6,000 alumni, like Chase Davis, who are making a difference in the world.
