Graduate Certificate GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN BIBLICAL AND THEOLOGICAL STUDIES Developed for those who want to know more about the Christian faith, this certificate requires a twentyhour theological core consisting of BI 501 Effective Biblical Interpretation; NT 511 Understanding the Gospels and Acts; NT 512 Understanding the Epistles and Revelation; OT 511 Understanding Early Israel and Its Wisdom Literature; OT 512 Understanding the Kingdom of Israel and Its Prophets; TH 501 Survey of Christian Doctrine I; and TH 502 Survey of Christian Doctrine II. The remaining ten hours are open electives and may come from any department. Certificates of Completion CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION IN CHAPLAINCY This certificate requires the following courses: CHP 550 Many Faces of Chaplaincy; CHP 650 Community-Based Clinical Pastoral Education; CHP 750 Officiating Worship and Religious Services; CO 560 Brief Counseling; and CO 570 Brief Counseling Practicum. CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION IN CHRISTIAN APOLOGETICS This certificate requires the following courses: AE 501 Defending the Christian Faith; AE 664 Religious Pluralism; and four hours of AE electives. CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION IN CHRISTIAN FORMATION AND SOUL CARE This certificate requires the following courses: CF 501 Biblical and Historical Foundations of Formation and Soul Care; CF 502 Principles and Practices of Christian Formation; CF 511 Dynamics of the Spiritual Journey; CF 513 Practice of Soul Care; and CF 595 and CF 596 Soul Care Practicum I and II. CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION IN MESSIANIC JUDAISM This certificate requires the following courses: MJ 501 Introduction to Messianic Judaism OR MJ 503 Messianic Jewish Apologetics I, and eight hours of MJ electives. 75
