2025-2026 Student Handbook 33 To Login to Canvas: For instructions on how to login to Canvas, students can access tutorial videos here. Canvas credentials are the same as those for Dmail and MyDenSem accounts. Note: only students who have registered for classes and have a course using a Canvas site will have an active account. Course sites are opened one week before the beginning of the semester. New students may need to wait until that time before they can successfully login to Canvas. Syllabi can be accessed at dsdocs.densem.edu/syllabi. Online Learning The Asynchronous Online Course Format The online classroom, including access to your Zoom sessions, will be located in our Canvas LMS (Learning Management System) at https://densem.instructure.com. Online courses provide students with interactive learning environments that allow for flexibility with work and ministry. These courses are not at your own pace but require engaged attendance, regular presence in the online classroom, and attention to all assignment deadlines. Students can expect the workload for this online course to be comparable to a residential course. Due to significant screen time and self-directed learning tasks, online courses can be intensive. Students are expected to view all course multimedia and presentations. Readiness for Online Courses The online learning format requires self-direction, commitment, and a willingness to learn new technologies. All students contemplating taking an online course should review the technology requirements and skills needed as listed in the Admission Information section of the Academic Catalog. Further, all students registered for an online course should complete the Student Success Course. Support for Canvas The Online Classroom (Canvas) is https://densem.instructure.com. If you experience difficulties logging in, call the seminary Help Desk at 303-762-6983 or email helpdesk@denverseminary.edu. If you are new to Canvas or are confused about how to do something (online discussions, submitting assignments, viewing videos, etc.) you can access Canvas support by clicking "Help" in the lower left side of the Canvas navigation menu or you may contact edtech@denverseminary.edu. Students should save a copy of all files and media submitted as classwork in Canvas; Denver Seminary does not guarantee access to course content, eReserves, or uploaded files and media in Canvas after a course is finished and final grades are submitted.
