77 counseling. They also learn how to have a greater impact on their community through a more comprehensive marriage and family program that produces practical results. Eight one-week seminars (twenty-four hours), one hour of mentoring, a two-hour residency, and a seven- hour thesis make up the thirty-four credit hour degree. Students take one seminar in January and July. Extensive reading and special assignments will precede and follow these seminars. The introductory seminar is offered every July and the other seminars are offered on a rotating basis. During the program students are required to spend 300 hours counseling clients and undergo 30 hours of supervision from a supervisor approved by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
