Many years of their ministry passed with no visible fruit, but now a network of house churches is growing, comprised of believers from Muslim backgrounds. Dan and Bethany have returned to live in the US, but it wasn't the news-making danger that prompted their move. Their youngest son has a rare heart condition that will likely require a transplant. Emotionally, they are torn, but they are committed to doing what's best for their son. For now that means living here and receiving vital medical attention. Because they have learned the languages and culture so well, and with the help of remarkable technological advances, Dan and Bethany can continue their ministry remotely. They pray that God will open a door so they can eventually move back as a family. In the meantime, they are glad to be involved in the lives of their college-age daughters while seeking help for their son. Bethany and Dan have pressed forward to defend the authority of the Bible, endeavoring to see people become followers of Jesus despite considerable opposition. Their lives embody consistent obedience, faith, and acceptance of the full authority of Scripture. That should be a life to which we all aspire.
