Denver Seminary
Celebrates 65 Years!
In May of 1950, several Colorado Conservative Baptist pastors
joined together to present the idea of a seminary at the annual
meeting of the Conservative Baptist Association of Colorado.
By the end of that year, Denver Seminary had established a full
board, had faculty in place, and had developed curriculum.
By September of 1951, 31 students had enrolled at the Seminary.
Dr. Carey S. Thomas served as the Seminary's first president.
Sixty-five years later—after changes in location, accreditations, seven presidents, and
more than 5,000 graduates—that original vision to create a flagship seminary is now
a vibrant reality in the Denver Seminary of today. Thank you for being a part of our rich,
65-year history!
10 Years at Littleton Campus
Fifty-five years after it began, Denver Seminary was privileged to move to the Littleton,
Colorado campus where it currently resides. Thanks to generous donors, friends, and
support, the Seminary broke ground in June of 2004 on the campus, located just east
of the historic South Platte River. Built from the ground up specifically for the Seminary,
the campus features three main buildings and four apartment buildings that are
currently used by over 900 students, 37 faculty, 71 staff, 27 associated faculty, and 42
student employees.
