CHURCH RESOURCE ENGAGE 11 The Simple Blog of 'A Pastor's Thoughts' Serves a Global Congregation When Joe Seredinski graduated from Denver Seminary five years ago, he had no inkling that his new blog, A Pastor's Thoughts, would serve a global congregation. But today it does. Through his Internet- based ministry, over 200 lessons have been accessed more than 27,000 times in over 100 countries around the world. Joe began with Jesus' Great Commission as a mission statement. The ministry was originally created to provide sound, academic, biblical teaching in accordance with 2 Timothy 3:16–17. Within a few months of the website launch, someone from Israel became the first person to access the lessons outside of the United States. Here in the US, a wife and mother who accesses the lessons weekly wrote to say, "I'm thankful this morning that you put in all the effort you did to be a shepherd for me last year. You saved me from more than a few rushing rivers and cliffs." Pastors around the globe also access the lessons and use them to teach their congregations. Pastor Diwakar of Mumbai, India recently said, "I am glad to stop by your blog post and go through your exhortation on 'In Love with the World.' I have preached on this text a number of times, yet I am blessed and encouraged and warned by your exhortation. The conclusion leads readers to self-examination." A Pastor's Thoughts ministry does not solicit or accept funds, but only asks those who access the website to share it with at least one other person. Joe Seredinski FOUNDING PASTOR, A PASTOR'S THOUGHTS Joe Seredinski is the founding pastor of A Pastor's Thoughts ministry, fully supported by his carpentry business. In 2011 Joe graduated with a master of divinity from Denver Seminary. He returned for doctoral studies this year. On January 1, 2016, Denver Seminary promoted Chris Johnson to the role of vice president of advancement, leading the team that sustains donor relationships and support through the Seminary Fund, scholarships, endowment, and planned giving. Chris received a master's in business administration (MBA) with a focus in leadership from Grand Canyon University. He succeeds Ron Gascho, who retired at the end of 2015. New Vice President of Advancement: Chris Johnson Denver Seminary invites people to become Legacy Builders when they remember the Seminary in their estate plans. It's our way of honoring and recognizing those who make these commitments. However, we know some people prefer to give these gifts anonymously. Each year nonprofit organizations across America receive more estate gifts from people who did not share their intentions while living than from those who did. This can create a bittersweet moment. While we're obviously grateful for all estate gifts, we're also saddened to receive one without a chance to show our gratitude. If you have remembered Denver Seminary in your estate plans, please know we are grateful— regardless of whether or not you decide to share the news in advance. If you do decide to let us know, we would appreciate the chance to thank you personally. Know that we are grateful, both now and in the future. For more information about becoming a Legacy Builder, please contact Chris Johnson at chris.johnson@denverseminary.edu or 303.762.6924. Would You Allow Us the Opportunity to Thank You?
