SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT Common Ground: Chapel Gatherings of Denver Seminary Common Ground chapel services are held each week during the fall and spring semesters on the main campus and at each extension campus. Denver Seminary faculty, staff, students, and their guests gather to focus on God through worship, teaching, and prayer. Attendance at Common Ground is required, but students are responsible for managing their attendance and selecting which semesters they would like to attend, so long as their requirement is completed by their graduation date. Students on the main campus in the Master of Divinity program are required to attend five semesters of chapel services (at least ten services of their choosing during each of those semesters). Students in the Master of Arts programs are required to attend three semesters of chapel services (at least ten services of their choosing during each of those semesters). At the conclusion of each semester has opted to attend, they must complete an online attendance form which allows the student life office to track each student's attendance. Students attending an extension campus must also fulfill the chapel attendance requirement as a condition for their graduation. To meet this requirement, MDiv students are required to attend ten chapels per semester for five semesters and MA students are required to attend ten chapels per semester for three semesters. Five of these ten chapels are offered on-site at the extension campus location; the remaining five are fulfilled online. Detailed information about attendance reporting can be found in the Student Handbook for each extension campus. Conferences/Lectureships Denver Seminary hosts a variety of conferences and lectureships per semester on the main campus that are intended to expose students to aspects of Christianity which otherwise might not be brought to their attention. These conferences and lectureships present evangelical leaders who, by knowledge and experience, inspire our community and contribute theological insight.
