133 YFS 620 Contextualized Design for Adolescent Programming A practical introduction to culture, context, audience, needs, and other important issues along with their implications for program design. A special focus is given to understanding and applying the skills of cultural study. Offered spring semesters. Three hours. YFS 660 Moral and Faith Development in Adolescence This course is an advanced study of human development theories as they relate to moral and faith development of children, youth and young adults, including sexual and gender identity development issues. Attention is given to practical ministry strategies that assist children, adolescents and emerging adults in these areas. Offered spring semesters. Two hours. YFS 670 Adventure Ministry Leadership Programming This is a practical course designed to introduce students to the theology, philosophy, methodology, and potential outcomes of utilizing wilderness and adventure activities. Students will explore this subject through readings, instruction, discussion, and guided experiential involvement in the Colorado backcountry. Two hours. YFS 590, 690 Studies in Youth and Family Issues These course numbers are reserved for courses of special or one-time interest that do not otherwise appear in the catalog. Two or three hours. YFS 591, 691 Individualized Study in Youth and Family Issues These course numbers are reserved for courses that are designed to free the student for independent investigation in youth and family studies under the guidance of a professor.
