4 SPRING 2017 NOTABLE News from the Denver Seminary community. F.Y.I. Thank You for Participating in Colorado Gives Day! Denver Seminary saw an 18-percent increase in the number of donors who participated in the 2016 Colorado Gives Day. This resulted in a 92-percent increase in total donated dollars as compared to 2015. Thank you for supporting the mission of Denver Seminary! In the the spring 2017 semester, Denver Seminary saw a 28-percent increase in new students! This includes students at the Denver, Washington DC, West Texas, and fully online campuses. Earning a Master of Divinity (MDiv) Has Never Been More Accessible Denver Seminary recently redesigned its MDiv to provide a flexible and personalized learning experience focused on a student's interests, learning style, and vocation. Students go deeper into the areas that match their gifts and have the ability to move into ministry faster, adapting to the challenges and opportunities of this rapidly changing world. Each course is rooted in the biblical bedrock, academic rigor, and mentored learning that have been the hallmark of Denver Seminary for over 65 years. ON CAMPUS OR FULLY ONLINE This esteemed MDiv is now being offered in two distinct delivery systems. Classes are offered at the beautiful Denver campus near the Rocky Mountains for those who prefer a classic format of learning and want to pursue an MDiv residentially. Students can also pursue an MDiv at the Denver Seminary Washington DC campus. And now, students have the option to stay connected in their current place of work, ministry, and community to pursue the degree fully online. This vibrant online community integrates a flexible, collaborative, and accessible learning experience, without the residential restrictions or the need to uproot a student's life to reach their educational goals. For more information on our MDiv degree, visit denverseminary.edu/fullyonline. Record Number of Denver Seminary Students Graduate 2016 was a record year for graduating students at Denver Seminary. A total of 246 students graduated in 2016, leaving Denver Seminary prepared to engage the needs of the world with the redemptive power of the gospel and the life-changing truth of Scripture. Congratulations to all of our 2016 graduates! Students Excel Taking National Counselor Exam (NCE) Each semester, Denver Seminary offers the NCE on campus for clinical mental health counseling students. One hundred-percent of the individuals who took the exam during the fall 2015, spring 2016, and fall 2016 passed! This exam is required in 42 states in order for an individual to apply for licensure as a counselor. The exam includes various topics covered throughout the program, including human growth and development, social and cultural foundations, professional orientation and ethics, and many more.
