150 Janet McCormack Dr. Janet McCormack joined the faculty in 2000 and serves as Director of the Chaplaincy and Pastoral Counseling Programs and Assistant Professor of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Counseling. Dr. McCormack earned a D. Min. from Denver Seminary, a M.Div. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a B.A. from Lock Haven State College. She is a graduate of the US Air Force's Air War and Air Command and Staff Colleges. Rev. McCormack is ordained, and endorsed for chaplaincy, by the American Baptist Churches, USA. Dr. McCormack and is a retired Air Force chaplain with twenty-two years of experience in military chaplaincy, serving in five states and two foreign countries. . Prior to entering the Active Duty Air Force, she pastored a Presbyterian Church in Natalia, Texas. She has further experience as a hospital, police, prison, NASCAR, drag racing, crisis and trauma, and industrial chaplain. Jan has served as consultant to the U.S. Army chaplaincy on mentoring; was a subject matter expert to the U.S. Navy Chaplaincy on Institutional Excellence; and to the U.S. Air Force Chief of Chaplains' Leaving a Legacy mentoring team. Dr. McCormack's counseling expertise is in the areas of brief therapy, crisis, trauma, and disaster work. She serves as visiting faculty for counseling courses at the Central American Theological Seminary in Guatemala. Jan served as visiting faculty for crisis response at the Southeast Asia Bible Seminary in Indonesia following the tsunami. and was on the faculty of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Training Institute, training others in disaster response. Rev. McCormack is a Board Certified Chaplain and serves on the Board of Directors with the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC); she is a Pastoral Counselor Educator with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC); and is a Supervisor with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). A Life Member of the Military Chaplains Association (MCA), Jan serves as their National Council's Director of Research. Dr. McCormack is a frequent presenter at professional and denominational organizations and seminars and has contributed articles on chaplaincy and counseling topics to several journals and magazines, as well as co-authoring The Work of the Chaplain. He is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision. Dr. Moore earned a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Northern Colorado, an MA from Colorado Christian University, and a BA from the University of Kansas. He has served as an adjunct professor of psychology and counseling at Colorado Christian University. Dr. Moore has served as assistant director of Hope Communities, Inc., a nonprofit affordable housing provider, for seven years. He was also a therapist and trainer at the National Institute for Change in Denver, and a counselor at the University of Northern Colorado's Psychological Services Clinic.
