154 He earned a BA in journalism from Bethel University and an MDiv from Denver Seminary. He also took coursework at Wheaton College Graduate School, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and Stanford University, and received a DD from Denver Seminary. He has authored several books, including Well Intentioned Dragons and Leadership Secrets of Billy Graham, and he was general editor of The Quest Study Bible. He has served on the boards of the Evangelical Press Association, Marble Retreat, Denver Seminary, and as board chair of the American Tract Society. In addition, he worked as a copy editor for The Denver Post and served on the pastoral staff of two churches. Email: Marshall.Shelley@denverseminary.edu Phone: 303-762-6919 Paula Tipton Dr. Paula Tipton joined the faculty in 2017 as an assistant professor of counseling. She received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University, an MA in Christian Thought and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a B.S. from California State University, Hayward. She is a licensed clinical professional counselor in Illinois where she ran a private practice for 20 years that included supervising counselors working toward licensure. She is currently licensed as a professional counselor in Colorado and maintains a small private practice and does clinical supervision. Prior to joining the Denver Seminary counseling department, Dr. Tipton taught at Colorado Christian University and served as clinical lecturer and supervisor at Northwestern University and adjunct professor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Nyack. She also served with Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) in Africa and Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic from 1977-1996. During part of her tenure in Eastern Europe she was on loan to Biblical Education by Extension (BEE) while in the Czech Republic. Email: Paula.Tipton@denverseminary.edu Phone: 303-357-5856 Ron Welch Dr. Ron Welch joined the faculty of Denver Seminary in 2008 and currently serves as professor of counseling. He earned the PsyD and MA from Central Michigan University. He has worked in the field of clinical psychology for over 20 years, and he has been a licensed clinical psychologist since 1997. Dr. Welch began his postdoctoral career in the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where he worked for seven years as a clinical psychologist. He has taught at Crichton College and Colorado Christian University in the psychology department, also serving as the chair of the psychology department. Since 2004, Dr. Welch has maintained a counseling practice in clinical psychology, opening his individual private practice, Transformational Marriage, PLLC, (transformational-marriage.com) in 2011.
