New Fully Online Degrees Make Theological Education More Accessible 39-HOUR MASTER OF ARTS WITH A MAJOR IN BIBLICAL AND THEOLOGICAL STUDIES Denver Seminary's new master of arts with a major in biblical and theological studies is a 39-hour academic degree designed to be completed entirely online in just two years. Students will gain a deeper knowledge of the Bible and its historical context, the nature and character of God, the person and work of Christ, the nature of sin, and major theological systems. Additionally, they will learn modern strategies for discerning and interpreting the theology of Scripture. To learn more, visit denverseminary.edu/BTS. MASTER OF ARTS WITH A MAJOR IN CHRISTIAN STUDIES The master of arts with a major in Christian studies degree is now being offered fully online. With this degree, students receive solid biblical and theological training with the greatest number of open elective hours of any major offered. That flexibility allows students to sample a wide array of subjects: Old and New Testament studies, church history, systematic theology, philosophy of religion, leadership, and evangelism. Students can also choose to focus on one or two fields of study. Free Online Courses Offered Last spring, Denver Seminary launched a FREE online course taught by President Mark Young. Currently, the Seminary is in the process of developing a second class taught by Dr. Craig Blomberg, distinguished professor of New Testament. The new class, "Unlocking the Parables of Jesus," begins by discussing the parable of the Prodigal Son, and then looks at several approaches that have been used to unpack and understand the parables. Dr. Blomberg also walks through over a dozen different parables, exploring their interpretation and application to our daily lives. If you missed President Young's class, "What's that Book About? Understanding the Big Story of the Bible," or want to participate in our upcoming class, visit denverseminary.edu/freeonlinecourse. Denver Seminary to Award Grants up to $30K to Select Churches in the Denver Metro Area This fall, Denver Seminary launched the Kaleo Project with a mission to transform ministry to Millennials in Denver through real relationships and common ground. Funded by the Lilly Endowment, this initiative will allow Denver Seminary to select 12 to 18 churches across the Denver Metro area to participate in the Kaleo Project. Over the course of three years, the Project will work with each church to collaboratively discover how they can invite the young adults in their neighborhoods to engage the church. For more information or to apply for the Kaleo Project Award, contact Dr. Halee Gray Scott at halee.scott@denverseminary.edu.
