2015-2016 Student Handbook 25 Residential Life Community Advisors Intentional efforts are made to foster relationships within the broad demographic of on-campus residents so neighbors can benefit from their shared life experiences. In order to help accomplish this, Community Advisors work under the supervision of the Community Life Coordinator to organize neighboring activities and facilitate relationship-building opportunities for their fellow residents. Community Advisors are selected through an interview process on an as-needed basis. Group Connections International Students Denver Seminary is privileged to host students from a variety of nations as they pursue degrees that will help them extend God's kingdom across the globe. The Seminary recognizes the unique challenges international students face and seeks to provide assistance specifically tailored to help these students succeed. Questions about the international student experience should be directed to the Dean of Students. Partners in Ministry3 (PiM3) PiM3 engages the wives of Denver Seminary students by encouraging them to recognize and embrace their call to serve Jesus Christ in partnership with their husbands, and by striving to equip them for effective, life-long ministry. Questions about PiM3 should be directed to Student Life. Student Interest Groups and Meet-ups From the mutual experience of their studies, students discover shared interests beyond the classroom and can initiate groups and/or "meet-ups" based on these shared interests. Previous and existing groups include Outdoor Adventure, Community Service, Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Men's Integrity, and Women's Support. The Student Life Office recognizes the role extracurricular relationships play in the lives of students and welcomes the formation of new groups and meet-ups. Inquiries can be made by contacting Student Life. Student Groups Student groups are distinguished from meet-ups by their structure, leadership, frequency and regularity of gatherings. Student Life offers advertising assistance and will consider requests for limited funding. Student groups must be in agreement with the Seminary's doctrinal and faith statements, theological foundations, and Guidelines for a Christian Lifestyle. Groups that oppose the above mentioned tenets of the Seminary will not be supported, assisted, or allowed to meet on campus. Meet-ups Student Life sponsored "meet-ups" are casual one-time gatherings that function as catalysts for students to make basic connections over shared interests or pursuits. Typically occurring over lunch or other brief window of time during the day, meet-ups are student-initiated and student- led. Student Life offers advertising assistance and can reserve space on campus for a meet-up to occur. Meet-ups must be in agreement with the Seminary's doctrinal and faith statements, theological foundations, and Guidelines for a Christian Lifestyle. Groups that oppose the above
