2015-2016 Student Handbook 59 research and application (professional and personal). This emphasis upon application and integration is reflected in the papers that students write. In addition to course papers, an integrative paper is required for each seminar (or individualized study); it indicates to what extent students are thinking integratively and tracks development of their doctoral project, which applies theory to practice. Doctoral Project Tuition and Fees Students must register for DP1101 Project the semester following their last seminar. Tuition for this 4-credit-hour course follows normal registration and payment deadlines. Following DMR-901, students must register each subsequent semester for DP1102 Project Continuation until the semester they intend to graduate, or until the six-year program limit expires, whichever occurs first. This is a no-credit course code and generates a $250 fee each semester the student registers for DP1102. Program Extension If a student has not finished the project by the end of the 6 th program year, the student must request a program extension. If granted, the student will register for DP1103 Project Extended Continuation for each subsequent semester until the semester in which the student intends to graduate. Like DP1102, this is also a no-credit course code, but with a $500 fee for each "Continuation" semester. In the final semester of a student's program, the student registers for DP1104 Project Completion. This 3 credit course follows standard registration and tuition procedures. NOTE: Students may choose to register for the final three credit hours, and pay that tuition, the semester prior to graduation in which the project is completed and defended. In such cases, the student will register for DP1104 the semester of the oral defense and for DP1102 or DP1103 the final semester in which the final project, with revisions, is submitted and graduation occurs. There should not be any semester between the student's last seminar and graduation in which the student is not registered, unless the student has requested and been granted a leave of absence. Failure to register for DP1101, DP1102, DP1103, or DP1104 as appropriate will result in a late registration fee and automatic registration by the registrar's office. Please see the course catalog for additional information regarding the Doctoral Project. Inter-Library Loans for D.Min. Students The library is committed to helping students in every way possible. However, the library staff will typically decline to fill Inter Library Loan (ILL) requests for non-local D.Min. students because students can often use their local library's ILL program with less cost (in time and money, especially postage) for all parties involved. An item may be available from a library closer to the requesting student's home library. Also, if a library book is lost in transit back to the Seminary library, the student is responsible for its full dollar replacement which could easily run into hundreds of dollars. If the student has exhausted all available resources in their area, they should contact the Collection Management Librarian at Denver Seminary who will assist with an ILL for the item.
