2015-2016 Student Handbook 50 Drug and Alcohol Policy See Guidelines for a Christian Lifestyle Weapons and Explosives Policy Denver Seminary strictly prohibits the possession, storage, or use of all weapons, ammunition, or explosives on campus property including, but not limited to, firearms, bows and arrows, knives, swords, bludgeons, devices with the capability of being discharged, and fireworks. Individuals permitted to own or operate any the above items, or similar ones, may not bring or store them on campus property including inside apartments or vehicles. Missing Student Notification In compliance with federal regulations, the following parties should be contacted to report a student who resides in on-campus housing and has been missing for 24 hours: • Kent Quackenbush – Director of Auxiliary Enterprises, Risk Management and Security 303-762-6923, kent.quackenbush@denverseminary.edu -Or, if unavailable- Rob Foley – Dean of Students 303-357-5838, rob.foley@denverseminary.edu • If after Seminary business hours or during the weekend, call Seminary security at 303-783- 3120 and/or the Littleton Police Department at 303-794-1551 Students living on-campus have the option to register a confidential contact person with the Seminary who will be notified in the case that they are determined to be missing. Only authorized Seminary personnel and law enforcement officers in conjunction with the missing person investigation are allowed access to this information. Contact Kent Quackenbush to register. Gender Roles and Ministry Training in an Educational Setting Denver Seminary is committed to training both men and women for all forms of Christian ministry. All who meet our admissions requirements and agree to a common, evangelical confession of faith as reflected in the National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith are welcome to any degree program and are supported by the Seminary in their pursuit of any ministry vocation. This commitment does not represent a theological stance on the relationship of gender to ministry. Rather, it reflects our educational mission. Denver Seminary provides graduate level training for ministry but does not offer ordination or credentialing for ministry. Therefore, churches, denominations and other ministry organizations are responsible to make their own decisions about who is eligible for particular ministry roles and functions. Within the parameters of our statement of faith, Denver Seminary celebrates the diversity of traditions and theological distinctives represented within our community by students, staff and faculty.
